ABSTRACT
Each house in the city is a construction tapping on different approaches to sociology, anthropology, psychology, neurology and certain combinations of these into a concept of illness, care and didactics. When engaging a discourse analysis of a specific social work practice, it is important to identify the references to dominating traditions within the field of social science and humanities. Discourses can be studied from a synchronic or a diachronic perspective. The professional discourses further implicate a discrepancy between the reality of lifeworld context and the reduction to a case. For the purpose of analysing official documents it is important to identify the purpose and the message of these documents. The text in a public document is a media which coordinates the diversity of individual experiences. The texts are dynamically evolved during the process in which they are produced, changed and subject to interpretation. The artefacts in a specific agency represent certain architecture of the physical space.
