ABSTRACT

This chapter outlines and evaluates OECD reform. Specifically, it focuses on the attempt to globalize OECD governance through membership enlargement, non-member outreach, and becoming a de facto Secretariat to the G7/8 and G20. The OECD's pragmatic approach has raised its profile and, for the moment, safeguarded its place at the top table of global governance. For this to be sustainable; however, the OECD needs to find solutions to the innate tensions in its global relations strategy.
