ABSTRACT

People should have a new, deep, and broad understanding of what character is, how it develops, and how schools can be a critical player in such development. Second, reader should also know what primed is overall; that is a set of six overlapping "design principles" to guide the construction of a comprehensive, evidence-based, and effective character education initiative. They should have discovered specific implementation strategies for each of the design principles. Readers have been provided with many links and references and other resources to learn more about the ones that catch fancy. Readers have been provided a worksheet to identify what they are already doing that aligns with each of the design principles.
