ABSTRACT

Chapter 5 unveils the intricacies of intersections, interactions, and conflicts between IEL and other branches of international law. Overcoming the dichotomy between unity and fragmentation, the chapter proposes new and different synergies between the various branches, fostering a new model of interrelations which leads to the furtherance of IEL. There is a considerable overlap between the various fields, such as in the case of the protection of biological diversity and intellectual property rights. For example, the protection of indigenous communities’ rights and conservation considerations.
