ABSTRACT

Building engagement focuses on creating an organization whose members take pride in their work and experience a sense of satisfaction in being great at what they do. There is a great deal that organizations can do to foster employee engagement. If employees who are already suffering from low levels of engagement are treated like they are the problem, the levels of employee engagement will inevitably plummet even further. There is also a great deal that organizations often do that hinder or destroy employee engagement. The chapter explores three keys to a highly engaged workforce. The three keys to a highly engaged workforce are organizational purpose, individual value, and progress. Organizational progress should be visual, and successes should be celebrated. Being a part of a successful organization with an exciting future creates a sense of pride among employees who have been involved in the organization’s success.
