ABSTRACT

An internal analysis is an examination of the organization’s current operations, organizational structure, performance, and cultural well-being. Performing an internal analysis can provide valuable insight into the relationship between the organization and the employees. This chapter presents multiple considerations of an internal analysis and explain the importance of these considerations. Starting the strategy development process with an internal analysis will help overall analysis identify the underlying problems rather than merely focus on the external symptoms. The production efficiency of an organization’s operations refers to how well the organization can get things done without wasting time, resources, and effort. The value stream analysis is an evaluation of the workflow process that the organization follows to arrive at a final product. The commercial performance analysis evaluates how well the organization can conduct marketing and sales efforts. An evaluation of continuous improvement refers to what the company has set in place to ensure that continuous improvement is happening.
