ABSTRACT

When the unidentified remains are skeletal, the forensic artist can do a two-dimensional reconstruction drawing. I'll show you how to set this up in order to draw it digitally. The lateral and anterior photographs need to be sized identically so that you can work on the two drawings together. You have the advantage of being able to zoom in on the photographs of the skull while drawing, examining them closely as you work. You can also draw perfect circle shapes to use as eyeballs and place those in the orbital cavities to use as guides in your drawing. If the skull has no postmortem tooth loss, you can show the actual teeth in the image.
