Students then explore key elements of directing, including coordination of the crew, interpretation of the script, and evoking performances from the actors. Attention is given to understanding the actor’s process and what it takes to direct actors effectively. The wide range of responsibilities a director faces is discussed, and the chapter ends with considerations and strategies to becoming a professional director.
