ABSTRACT

The examples demonstrate the increasing tendrils of Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs as they spread their crime and violence globally. Perhaps most important to this treatment of the biker legacy of violence is the UN;s contention that individual gangs traditionally use violence toward other clubs and individuals as well as within the gangs themselves. The global extension of OMCs and OMGs has changed in the last decade. A wide range of Outlaw Motorcycle Clubs/Gangs (OMC/Gs) from various countries are crossing borders for access to criminal markets. The chapter traces the cross-border expansion and later provides selected examples of the violence that has accompanied the transnational movement. The transnational expansion of Outlaw Motorcycle Clubs/Gangs across state borders and continents was in the past largely a phenomenon of US-based clubs, such as the Hells Angels, Outlaws, Bandidos, and a few lesser-known OMGS expanding into Australia, Canada, and Europe.
