ABSTRACT
This chapter delves into the role of the mentor as the trainer for your protagonist to accomplish his or her outer journey. It explains how mentors may not be perfect and can assist in preparing the protagonist mentally or physically, or both, for his or her quest. This chapter also explores how and when to design the rare situations where the mentor becomes the central character of the story or the mentor turns out to be false, turning against the protagonist.
