ABSTRACT

System mapping is a tool that is used to define and document best known management practices and then to establish a best achievable practice that reflects our ability to deliver on that best practice. System mapping supports analytic and design steps to create a structured/designed system, operating in a native system environment, to facilitate a consistent, predictable result. The development of both outputs and outcomes will lead us to a description of business purpose: in this case, finding, recruiting, placing, and training excellent employees throughout the organization to ensure that all allocated vacant positions are promptly filled. Outcomes reflect the impacts of our system on the larger world, rather than just the specific things we produce, and are also indicative of the business purpose and mission.
