ABSTRACT

New solar renewable energy growths have taken place in many emerging economies. Solar energy has become a key element of the new renewable energy transformation plans of many key emerging economies and developed countries globally. They believe that new solar renewable applications should help them to meet the challenges of lowering fossil fuel consumptions, reducing environmental pollutions plus meeting their Paris Agreement commitments. Technological innovations have helped them to reduce solar energy cost significantly thus making it competitive against fossil fuels. This has promoted solar growths in recent years globally especially in emerging economies. Looking ahead, experts have predicted that solar growths should continue especially with integration with energy storage systems. Details of solar renewable energy growths and future developments will be discussed in more detail in this chapter with international examples.
