ABSTRACT

Architects, like many people, have suffered from the moral hazard, the unethical behavior of those who have rigged policies to ensure that they never lose, regardless of the risks they take. Moral hazard has plagued the banking and finance industries and has affected public policies influenced by those with money who have a lot to lose should things go wrong. Architects often have to work for those who engage in such hazards and need to make sure that they do not get caught in situations in which their clients can’t lose and their architects can’t win. The moral of moral hazard is that it is dangerous for those who create it and those who suffer from it.
