ABSTRACT

This concluding chapter presents an overview of the key concepts discussed in the preceding chapters of this book. It also discusses some of the issues raised in the Post-Cognitivist approach, from a position grounded in a history of debates over methodology in the Economic and Social Sciences. The chapter considers the role Max Weber played in the Methodenstreit debates. It provides the backdrop for a return to some of the issues raised by Bernard Stiegler. The chapter describes the Stiegler's contribution defending him against some of his critics before examining how his approach could be reinforced by drawing on the philosophical trajectory that the author has defended in this text. Stiegler's Heideggerian approach to technology is also positioned resolutely against both Cognitivism and its mathematical counterparts.
