ABSTRACT

The correspondence between the Resident Engineer and the Consulting Engineers will be passed under flying seal through the General Manager and yourself, and the work will also be subject to personal inspection from time to time by the General Manager and the officers of his department whenever you may think it desirable to order such inspection. It is proposed that as each section of the line to Oshogbo is completed and handed over to the Open Lines Department, it should be inspected and reported upon by an engineer of undoubted competence specially selected for the purpose by the Consulting Engineers and acting under their instructions. With the experience gained during the construction of the existing lines, it is hoped that it will be possible to exercise a better control over the expenditure on railway construction in future.
