ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the concepts discussed in the previous chapters of this book. The book deals with how practitioners in four specific professions respond to the challenges posed by candidate and then President Donald Trump. The first point that is clear is that professional codes of ethics and widely accepted norms of behavior have evolved for a reason. Second was his questioning the legitimacy of the electoral process. Third, those involved professionally in political life are troubled that President Trump does not feel he needs to understand the intricacies of the governmental process. Finally, national leaders are dismayed by the divisive nature of President Trump's leadership. The dilemma is whether professionals can respond to these fundamental challenges posed to the American system of government by Trump within the guidelines for appropriate behavior. Professors facing the challenge of how to teach Trump also fall back on the basic tenets of their profession.
