ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses the preparation necessary for a successful and efficient costume fitting session. We examine What should be in the fitting space, Who might be in the fitting room, and How to call the actor to a fitting appointment. The What includes the tools needed and the type of space required for a fitting. The Who discusses the people who may be in the room and how they should work together for the best result. How to call the actor in for a fitting covers the variety of ways that an actor can be scheduled for a fitting (depending on the theatre in which one is working) as well as the number of fittings one may expect to have for a costume.
