ABSTRACT

This chapter covers the fitting process in general, which will be pertinent to all further chapters in the book. The actor should be fit in all of the layers that they will wear with the costume, starting from the support garments outward, and including shoes. If one is fitting a number of pulled or ready-made options, how one organizes the fitting room beforehand and the garment choices during the appointment will help with efficiency during the fitting and avoid confusion afterward. If one is fitting a mockup, having a clear sense of what to attend to, and in what order, will help one see the garment more clearly and make better decisions.
