ABSTRACT
Unrehearsed actors use the term Action to the Word, borrowed from Hamlet’s advice to the Players, and the coined variation Action to the Verb to describe physicality demanded by the text. Descriptive Action to the Word applies to behaviors and states of being mentioned in lines; Action to the Verb applies to physical movements mentioned in lines, excepting those that are impossible or planned for a specific time in the future.
