ABSTRACT
This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the concepts discussed in the preceding chapters of this book. The book examines the general legal profile of the European Union (EU) agencies with a view to determining the status of the bodies within the EU institutional system and to identify relevant legal parameters that shape their powers and actions. It shows that, by looking into the international cooperation practice and legal framework of the EU agencies, a more 'down-to-earth' picture of some of the most relevant aspects and related legal issues pertaining to the international dimension of these bodies has been provided. It develops a tailored framework for assessing the EU agencies' legal status and instruments on the international plane. The book applies the general legal-analytical framework concerning the EU agencies' international dimension to European Aviation Safety Agency, Frontex and Europol. It discusses a list of recommendations is advanced, complemented by an inventory of directions for further research.
