ABSTRACT
Ben Sira was Jewish sage writing in the second century bce. His book did not find its way into the Hebrew Bible but it is cited on occasion in the Talmud, and our best Hebrew copies were found in the Cairo Geniza showing that Jews of the medieval period in Egypt were reading and studying the book.
