ABSTRACT

A field is a distinct entity that has several notable characteristics. There are researchers, established higher education centers, volumes for research publication, regular conferences, and other measurable criteria. By these indicators, environmental conflict can be called a field. It is a particular sort of field that is cross-disciplinary in nature. Fields go through processes of maturation and progress. In this regard, environmental conflict seems no different from other fields where theories are proposed, tested, and revised over time.
