Suppose that we are given some function of t, y(t), which is defined for all values of t in some set of real numbers T. Now suppose that for some given positive number h, the real numbers t+h, t+2h, t+3h, …, t+nh are elements of the set T. Then the values y(t), y(t+h), …, y(t+nh) are well defined.
