ABSTRACT
This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the key concepts discussed in the preceding chapters of this book. The book addresses two key questions of the pluralistic and community in urban policy: the nature of 'community power' within local urban regeneration partnerships (URPs); and the significance of 'race' within local community forums and the regeneration process. It seeks to conceptualize the nature of power or influence wielded by local communities involved in community forums by analyzing their reputations, positions, relations and abilities to influence decisions in local URPs. The book explores how 'race' was structured and the significance of it within community forums and the overall regeneration process within Northside, Southside and Westside ethnically diverse neighbourhoods located in London. It focuses on attitudes and commitment to community participation and the nature of structures and processes set up by the accountable bodies within each case study area.
