ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses the direction that business transformation is likely to take, for each of the business models in turn. Organisations will continuously need to be open to new developments and transitions to other business models. Companies don't know what the 'right' organisations will look like and are confronted with the realistic possibility that any reorganisation will soon be outdated by new technologies. In the Chameleon business model it is the organisation that determines the supply of products and services. The Innovator is a business model which is always a temporary configuration of parties. A potential movement towards other business models is inherent. A Foyer that focuses on innovational activities will probably never fully transform into the Innovator business model. Organisations will need to take explicit action to balance the various approaches to governance, which come with the various business models.
