In this chapter, Anna Sheather brings together art and coaching, looking at what already happens in practice, exploring and discussing why coaching with art has an important place in coaching practice.

The chapter includes coaching in today’s world and how art in coaching addresses the challenges in coaching where results are expected fast, success needs to be measured and value-added proved, whilst practitioners are also experiencing a downward pressure on fees. Anna Sheather looks at the benefits to the client of coaching with art and where it adds the greatest value, as well as the different applications of coaching with art. These include executive coaching, business coaching, personal coaching, personal and professional development and creative coaching. Each of these applications is supported by a case study.

The barriers to using art in coaching are also explored as well as the limitations of this approach in coaching practice.
