ABSTRACT

A subordinate clause (or sub clause) is a group of words containing a finite verb and subject; this group usually forms the subject, object or other adverbial (MPT expression; see Unit 5) within a main clause sentence (see Unit 8):

That you are feeling better is a good sign.

I don’t like (the fact) that he is selfish.

We’ll buy a new car if we get a salary increase.
