ABSTRACT

Lean focuses on the principles and culture of the organization for long-term results, and it can be operational, namely in the application of tools and techniques. Implementation in the scope of health services shows that Lean is able to speed up the way to get care services, cost reduction, increased productivity, error reduction, and increases of staff and patient satisfaction. Lean implementation in the hospital became more important in the Universal Health Coverage era when there was a surge of patient visits. Visual management is intended to determine the errors that occur in health care using Lean. This happens because visual management allows the staff to view the status at any time on the system and find out if there is a problem in the system. Continuous improvement measures are carried out by strengthening teams, routine audits, and the communication of achievement of the results through a visual board.
