ABSTRACT
Contingency Leadership Theories are those that maintain leadership must occur in relationship to organizational contexts. Situational Leadership Theory, Path-Goal Theory, and Contingency Theory are all important theories that can guide assessment leaders in scanning their organizational contexts and applying theories to help faculty and staff respond to the unique needs of higher education institutions.
