ABSTRACT

Chapter 3 provides a comprehensive discussion of the ludonarrative model which I have built using the players’ experience from the study. I describe and explain the conceptualisation of the ludonarrative model in this chapter. I provide attribution for where particular constructs were derived and state how the proposed model draws from earlier constructs such as Stöckl’s (2004) discussion of modes, and Dena’s (2010) common semiotic principle and transmodiological approach.
