ABSTRACT

Like many organizations, schools and school systems are structured on a hierarchy. Someone is in charge of someone else who supervises others. Understanding the hierarchy as well as the correct person to whom our questions and concerns can be directed is important. Systems are segmented into departments that specialize in various aspects of the schooling process. Knowing the rules and policies of the classroom, school, and district will also allow us to better discern the magnitude of a perceived complication. As with any system, there are also unwritten rules to success, many of which can be attributed to the positive relationships between the parent and the school. Most educators work tirelessly to prepare high quality, engaging lessons. They attend training to ensure they stay current on the latest research on effective teaching and learning, and they care deeply for the children with whom they work.
