ABSTRACT

Stories about schools paint a picture about what learning should look like, and stories about schools help us understand the learning experience of students. Stories connect past learning models to future possibilities in learning, and stories provide parents with the information they need to share to the greater community about how schools serve their students. Stories are powerful. Students tell us stories about school each day. They tell us about the amazing experiment in science class, and they also share how "boring" and "dumb" school can be. There are three areas that all schools are pursuing in order to prepare students to be excellent citizens and solution makers. These include: issuing technology as a tool to support all subjects of learning, creating learning experiences that feature projects to showcase understanding, and using the community to bring context and meaning to learning.
