ABSTRACT

This chapter argues that sexual health is one of many important elements in a holistic programme of Relationships and Sex Education. It is full of interactive and engaging ways to facilitate learning around sexual health across the school curriculum or as part of an interdisciplinary informal education programme. Young people in the UK have the right to access free confidential sexual health services and contraception under the age of 16 without parental consent. Young people have the legal right to a confidential service, providing the healthcare professional views that they can understand the advice being given. Sexually Transmitted Infections can be transmitted through different kinds of sex including oral sex and penetrative vaginal and anal intercourse.
