ABSTRACT

An excellent way of assessing and/or reflecting on learning in Relationships and Sex Educat (RSE) is by asking participants to advise someone else on a particular issue. The task is to research the topic, drawing on the learning from the RSE programme and elsewhere and work out how best to present a reflective summary of the learning to the rest of the group. Quizzes are a quick and popular way to check learning in RSE. They work as baseline assessment tools or as ways of checking learning midway, or at the end of a programme of learning. Participants create their own quizzes in small groups based on the learning in the RSE programme. Evaluation is a key part of the learning cycle. It provides opportunities for participants and educators to step back and reflect on the value of an RSE programme for participants.
