ABSTRACT
Silliness is defined here as behaviour that has no obvious purpose except to show off and attract attention. It can include inappropriate remarks, wisecracks or slapstick. The student will need to learn which positive behaviours will result in the desired attention. It is likely negative behaviours will increase temporarily as the pupil ‘ups the ante’ to get the desired outcome. Keep firm in giving maximum attention to the positive and opportunities to shine.
