ABSTRACT

Meta-theoretical considerations are central in this chapter. Here, the praxis-driven works of Ludwik Fleck on epistemology of scientific thinking are taken as a basis. His concepts of thought styles and incommensurabilities are presented, contrasted to Thomas Kuhn’s understandings and then put into perspective of social-ecological conflict research. In this sense, the creation of incommensurabilities of thought styles lies at the core of interest.
