ABSTRACT
T his book has been written from a personal standpoint not solely as a device to sweeten heavy doses of flat collectors and photovoltaics. Quiescent at first, the subject began to stir and advance at such a rate that it could be grasped only in terms of one’s own experience. Solar energy has suddenly become too big and sprawling to be wrapped in a single package. I can hardly say where it is going or even where it is; I can only estimate its speed the last time I saw it.
