ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses how people with high-conflict personality disorders like narcissism affect and disrupt the mediation and divorce proceedings in court system. It examines workplace abuses of the type that are increasingly being heard in courts throughout the land. Wilfred Bion clarified the relationship that exists between the individual and the group in his seminal work based on the main construct of two types of groups: the Work Group and the Basic Assumption Group. The chapter presents an article at the California Association of Marriage Family Therapists called “Courts Beware of the Borderline”, which details how someone with a narcissist or borderline personality can manipulate and abuse the legal system. Good workers who fall within the matrix of the corporate abuse system complain of consistently being criticized, having their job responsibilities taken away, and being assigned meaningless, makeshift tasks or “busy work” to perform on a daily basis.
