ABSTRACT

Looks at the lifecycle of relationships and how to accommodate changes that occur as the relationship progresses. Strategies to deal with the boredom and stress that can affect the middle of relationships is discussed. Less conventional relationships are explored, including polyamorous, arranged and asexual relationships. Challenges to relationships, such as changes in sexuality, resuming previous relationships and discrimination are also considered. When and whether to have children and accommodating the needs of existing family members is a further challenge. The chapter ends by addressing how to plan for one of the couple becoming ill or dying.
