ABSTRACT
The control of dynamic range through compression has its usefulness in editing and mixing, especially during the preparation of tracks for streaming, and this chapter considers the role of compressors, limiters, dynamic EQs, and de-essers in the production of classical music. Explanations of the way these processors work is followed by discussions of commercially available software by Brainworx Audio, Nugen Audio, and Sonnox.
