ABSTRACT

When working with groups of students or adults on exploring difficult issues, such as those surrounding bullying, it is important to thoroughly warm up the group before starting on the work in hand. It cannot be stressed enough that time spent on warming up and getting in touch with our senses and our voices will enable a group to function with dynamism, energy, passion, feeling and fun. We should aim to have warmed up our bodies, our voices and our minds before the start of any groupwork session. The following exercises are examples of a variety of warm-up techniques that may be used by groups of all ages and size.
