General Review. 90. During 1936 the improvement in the economic status of the Sudan was steadily maintained. For the fourth successive year crop and pastoral conditions were generally favourable. e upward trend of commodity prices was accompanied by a marked increase in the volume of foreign trade. e bene cial e ect of this general movement was clearly re ected in the nancial position of the Government.
