ABSTRACT
In Norse myth Odin (Oðdin) (Wotan) is usually portrayed with two ravens, one on each shoulder, as he sits on his throne overlooking heaven and earth. They are Hugin (Thought) and Munin (Memory). From them Odin derives his wisdom. The ravens fly each day over the whole world and report back to Odin on all they have seen and heard.
