ABSTRACT
Charles Livingstone wrote these letters from Oberlin, Ohio, to his parents in Hamilton, Scotland. They mostly describe his voyage and journey and his arrival at Oberlin College, where he was to be a student. Also included are later observations of Livingstone made by a Mrs Sherlock Bristol. The explanatory footnotes are in the original typescript and have been retained.
