ABSTRACT
The reader will be pleased to recollect, that I had at this time experienced the advantages and disadvantages of but one of the stranger’s secrets. – The elixir of life, which would confer immortality on me, I had not yet imbibed. This event, however, and the consequent extraordinary circumstances that happened to me, I shall soon relate, but a few intervening incidents, which, as natural ones, are sufficiently marvellous, I shall beg leave to premise.
