ABSTRACT
In his way to Covent Garden, as he was passing the door of a public house, he heard some persons very loud in conversation; this excited his curiosity, and he immediately went in. He found the room full of military / men, as usual, ‘high in oath,’ and very warm in expressing their discontent at scanty pay and hard duty, tho’ most of them, being newly enlisted, had received more bounty money than they could spend, and had never done any duty at all.
