ABSTRACT

Emilia Eaglefield, whom we have yet only mentioned as being a year older than her brother, was now in her eighteenth year. We shall not attempt a description of her person; for, as we wish to render her particularly interesting to our readers, and as tastes in beauty are very different, we will leave it to each of them to draw her according to the favourite object of his own fancy; premising only, that her face was beautiful, her form elegant, and her eyes expressive of the virtues she possessed, among which, feminine meekness, / modesty, and sensibility were predominant.
