Sir Edward Eaglefield used frequently to attend Miss Cameron and the lovely Madelain in their tours on horseback; for, though the latter lady was not so expert a horsewoman as her cousin, yet, as she was desirous of extending her knowledge of the country beyond the limits of a walk, she rode with her on a gentle poney, which her father had chosen for her.
