ABSTRACT

The ASEAN region has remained robust in the past few years posting a remarkable growth amidst the presence of major global economic shocks. The region has been able to maintain consistent growth in its productive capacities domestically as well as at units located in countries other than the ASEAN. FDI flows into ASEAN increased from an all-time high of US$ 114 billion in 2012 (up 17 per cent year-on-year compared to 2011) to US$ 120 billion in 2013, indicating about 8.6 per cent as ASEAN’s share in total global FDI inflows in 2013.
