ABSTRACT

If business people are seeking to establish an international business through cyberspace, a subscription to the international Trade Network provides contacts for shipping agents and other essential services, as well as opportunities to advertise. Despite the fluidity of the cyberspace business environment and the consequent difficulty in forecasting what is going to happen, drawing up at least a skeleton business or marketing plan is essential, if only for own edification. Every day brings me a variety of enquiries from people in all walks of life who see wonderful new opportunities for their pet projects in the new business world of cyberspace. There are entrepreneurial rewards beyond money which should be factored into every business plan, if only for own personal consideration or to share with family members and colleagues who will be affected by the project. The traditions in management and business planning techniques are still being perpetuated by academics and former corporate managers teaching in business schools.
